2025 Ins & Outs - A Stylist Edition

As we strut into 2025 here are a few of my ins & outs that I invite you to consider for yourself and your style.

Both personally or as a business owner, a huge emphasis needs to be on your authenticity, first impressions and your personal brand.

IN

  • Embracing main character energy

  • Making intentional purchases

  • Taking time to understand your lifestyle & your personal aesthetic

  • Adopting ‘The Rule of Four’ with any new purchases

  • Embrace a circular wardrobe - shop and resell pre-loved, thrifting, hiring

  • Investing in yourself and your knowledge

  • Investing in tailoring & alterations

  • Pre-planning your outfits head to toe for busy days/weeks

  • Understanding the importance and power of a strong personal brand

  • Embracing your authenticity

  • Stepping into your own version of style with confidence

  • Wearing what you love ‘right now’ instead of ‘when’

  • Empowering your employees to have knowledge and confidence around personal branding

OUT

  • Using the phrase ‘that’ll do’ when making any purchases

  • Overconsumption

  • Only following/buying trends instead of wardrobe staples

  • Trying to keep up with the ‘cool’ kids and buying items that don't serve you

  • Buying 'outfits' rather than pieces to create versatility in your wardrobe

  • Buying uncomfortable shoes and clothing

  • Allowing your pieces to ‘wear you’ by not focusing on the fit or alterations of items

  • Buying items without trying them on in-store

  • Not returning items purchased online within the return period

  • Not considering fabrications and wearability of pieces
(don’t purchase dry clean only or hand wash only if you don’t launder that way)

  • Not investing time & resources to empower your employees

How are you stepping into the year ahead?
Are you being intentional in how you show up on a daily basis?
